Zion Community Church is a multi-cultural, multi-racial teaching ministry that believes in the fulfilling power of the Holy Ghost.

Bishop Otis Trey Wright is the Founder and Pastor of Zion Community Church of Jacksonville, Florida. His God-given mission to the body of Christ is to restore broken visions and strengthen families by “Simplifying God’s Word for Practical Application.” He is a native of Jacksonville, Florida raised by his parents Otis II and Carolyn Wright.Pastor Wright accepted Jesus Christ in June 1980 at the age of 17 at Greater Holy Temple COGIC (now Cathedral of Faith). In the summer of 1981, he visited Philippian Community Church with his brother Pastor LeAnthony Wright and fell in love with the powerful and anointed ministry of the late Bishop Lawrence C. Callahan. As he devoured and acted upon the teachings of Bishop Callahan, he soon became an important part of the outreach of the fast growing church by bringing many souls to Christ. He was known for running “front porch revivals”, which entailed stopping by houses where he noticed people congregating and sharing the gospel to strangers. Bishop Callahan noticed his faithfulness and commitment to the ministry and entrusted him as the first “Jr.” Deacon of the church. In November of 1982, he preached his first sermon. He also began to serve Bishop Callahan as his armor bearer and did so faithfully until God told him to leave and start Zion Community Church. He designed the first logo of the young church at Philippian that was used for years. While at Philippian he served in the choir, the witnessing team, and taught both youth and adult Sunday school classes. He served as the District Leader to the youth district and later to an adult district leader. He
watching the television broadcast. One Sunday morning, while he listened to a close friend share a dream, the Holy Spirit spoke and said that” it was time to leave the Philippian family and start a church.” Bishop Callahan had not arrived to the church, so he tearfully shared his news with the man who became his Presiding Prelate, Bishop Virgil C. Jones. With only his immediate family at his side ( his wife and two children), he began having church service in the living room of his apartment.was a part of the phone ministry that received calls and prayed with those who called in for prayer after They later began to have service in the clubhouse of those same apartments. The late Bishop Callahan told him of a building that was available on the east side of Jacksonville. He was given the keys and a $1,600.00 offering from Philippian
Community Church and told that if he did the repairs the building would belong to Zion. To his surprise, the building needed so much worked that he doubted whether or not it was worth the labor. As he began to pray in the building the Lord told him that “the glory of the latter would be greater than the former.” Because the building had no plumbing or electrical connections to the city and many other structural problems, it took several years and over $65,000 to make the building suitable for worship. By God’s grace it was done debt free. The church still operates debt free. Bishop Otis Trey Wright is married to Pastor Cynthia Wright, and they are proud parents of two children, Trey and Kailyn.
