Handling The Holidays

Handling the Holidays
Holidays can carry with them a myriad of feelings and emotions based upon past experiences both good and bad. It’s important for us as believers to see each day as a creation of God with him at the center. We must not allow Satan to weaponize the Holiday season to push us into dark places of sadness and grief. It’s true that some of our love ones may not be with us or around as we desire. However, we must remember that if they loved us as much as we loved them, they would want us to be happy in their absence and have some fun instead getting all down and gloomy. Father in Jesus’ name, we praise You for the power to enjoy life to the fullest. Forgive us for allowing the devil to convince us that we should be sad or depressed. Help us to rejoice and glorify You for Your goodness. Remind us that everyday is a day that You have made for us to rejoice and be glad. Bless us to know You as the God who can fix anything including a broken heart. Heal our love ones and comfort the bereaved. Amen

Father in Jesus’ name, we praise You for being a burden bearer. Forgive us for neglecting to represent Your awesome kindness towards saints and sinners. Remind us to encourage those who lost their way. Bless us to restore the image of Your church being a group of people called to be loving and caring to people in need. Help our faithful church leaders to overcome the obstacles caused by the scandals of preachers who yielded to the temptation of flesh. Amen
